Clips from the DVD “You’re Not Alone”

Good Days and Bad Days

Kay talks about how she has learnt to deal with the bad days, how she makes them as pleasant as possible, and how they encourage her to grab the good days.

Some Days it’s Hard

Pam describes how she has learnt to accept that there are bad days, and how she has found her own way of managing them.

Walking Beside you

Fran talks about how helpful it is to know that on this journey women don’t have to be alone.

How to Live

Kay speaks about how to make the most of each day, and what she has learned from being in a group with other women who are also dealing with similar difficulties. Fran and Pam too talk about the benefits of being in a group where women are able to talk about whatever they may find helpful.

Improving Understanding and Communication with Doctors

Fran talking about suggestions for how to improve communication with doctors, given the difficulty sometimes understanding or taking in what is being said to you.

True Acceptance and Positivity

Kay and Fran talk about how accepting the diagnosis helps you to prepare and live with less fear.

Exercise.

Swimming is excellent as it is non weight bearing and will suit most women of all ages and types of cancer.
Skiing - hire snow shoes which are almost as much fun as skiing, but lessen the chance of doing damage if you fall over. (And lessen the chance of falling over.)
